Frequently Asked Questions:
Skaters can register for tryouts through excelsynchro.org. While we do accept walk in’s, it is best to register for tryouts in advance.
Athletes will then attend an evaluation that includes a mix of individual skills and introductory synchronized skating elements. Our coaches strive to ensure the tryout process is a stress-free and fun experience for all our developmental skaters!
After tryouts conclude, placement letters will be sent to the registered email address with clear details about team placement and next steps in the acceptance process!
Team Excel offers six Aspire levels to meet skaters where they are and support their continued growth. At tryouts, our coaching staff carefully evaluates each skater and places them in the environment where they are most likely to succeed. Placement is based not only on skating ability, but also on age, ensuring every skater is in a group that is the right fit both technically and socially.
Yes! Our Aspire 1 program or Tiny Toepicks is the perfect place for your skater to begin their synchronized skating journey. We encourage you to attend an evaluation so we can ensure the best possible placement for your athlete and set them up for success.
All Aspire teams practice once per week at The Skating Club of Boston. Practices are held on Saturday afternoons or evenings. A detailed practice schedule will be shared with families during the summer once ice times are finalized. The Aspire season runs annually from September through March.
Our Aspire teams compete in 3-4 local competitions each season. There is no travel required for any of the 6 Aspire teams we field.
In addition to competitions, teams will perform in various shows and exhibitions at The Skating Club of Boston!
