Team Excel Intermediate and Team Excel Juvenile had their debut performances at the Thanksgiving Classic Synchronized Skating Competition held at The Bog Arena in Kingston last weekend. Both teams, coached by Director of Synchronized Skating Merita Mullen and Kristin Curran, performed beautifully. The Juvenile team finished 6th and the Intermediate team placed 3rd.

The Juvenile team is skating “Around the World” this season to a medley of three songs. They begin their program by swaying to Louis Armstrong’s, “What a Wonderful World” as they draw the audience into the performance. Then, they transition into a fast-paced can-can, and the program ends with a swish of their skirts for the Mexican hat dance.

The Intermediate team, one of Team Excel’s three IJS level teams, is skating to a medley of songs from Wonderland: the Musical. Their powerful beginning is to the song, “Welcome to Wonderland” followed by other more emotional songs from the musical including, “I Will Prevail”.

All nine Team Excel teams will compete on November 23, 2013 in the Boston Synchronized Skating Classic (BSSC) hosted by Team Excel and The Skating Club of Boston. The BSSC will be held at the New England Sports Center in Marlborough, MA from 10am – 5pm. For more information about the BSSC, please visit, www.bostonsynchroclassic.org.
