Merita Mullen Announces Retirement from Team Excel Synchronized Skating Teams

Team Excel today announced that Merita Mullen, the organization’s longtime Director of Synchronized Skating, has decided to retire.

Ms. Mullen has been with Team Excel since its founding eleven years ago.  As founding Director of Synchronized Skating, Ms. Mullen contributed many years of hard work and dedication to Team Excel.  She led Team Excel from an organization with a handful of teams to a sustainable, 10+ team organization spanning from Intro to Synchro through Adult teams.  Over the years, hundreds of skaters have benefited from her vast coaching experience and nurturing coaching style.  She offered all synchronized skaters the opportunity to achieve their individual potential and achieve their goals as teams, leading Team Excel to successful placements at all levels and national medals in the Collegiate and Adult divisions.  She also spent significant time developing a cohesive coaching team, which strives to coach competitive teams in the same nurturing way.

Team Excel is deeply grateful for all that Ms. Mullen has contributed to this organization.  As Team Excel looks towards the future and the exciting move to the Skating Club of Boston’s new facility in Norwood, our board of directors, steering committee, and coaches are committed to the mission of Team Excel and continuing to create the best experiences for our skaters.
